Rent a Villa – Know the Rules

Planning to rent a villa with a pool during your Christmas holidays? If you have yet not finalized your bookings, then consider the following listed factors which you should consider when finalizing your bookings. Like which part of the world are you planning to holiday in? What’s the season specification of that part of the world? Other than considering how cold that place would be during Christmas, we also need to consider that owners of these villas with pools (heated or not) require their guests to consider certain things:
Regular Maintenance: The swimming pool needs regular maintenance. Before you check in and take the possession of the villa, its advisable to check with the villa owner if you are required to clean it yourselves, or if you can arrange for professional pool cleaners to come in and clean the water and pool itself for you, or the owner will arrange for it.
Safety: A swimming pool is surely pleasurable but it can be a danger if there are children or any elderly people with you. There are chances that children can fall in and drown, even if there is very little water in the pool or elder people might slip on the poolside and get themselves fractured. Even adults who are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves can also be injured in a swimming pool. Thus, its always advisable to use the buddy system when you are staying in villas with pools – meaning, always have someone with you at all times.
Prevent Accidents: Villas with private swimming pools become dangerous especially during or after the tenants have conducted a get-together. Pieces of broken liquor glasses or softdrink bottles may cut someone badly later on. In most likelihood, a drunken guest might fall in the pool and have to be fished out so he doesn’t drown. So, if there are any plans for hosting get together or a private party at any villas with swimming pools try to avoid serving liquor or keep a vigilant eye on the guests and family members who may have had too much to drink.
Handy Contacts: Always keep contacts handy to who should you contact if incase you encounter problems at the villas with swimming pools you are planning to stay in. For example, if the drain of the swimming pool gets blocked and water cannot be sucked out of the pool for cleaning, should you contact the owner of the villa himself? Or just look for a pool drain professional? Maybe the right person to contact is the agent? At any rate, inquire before finalizing your stay at the villa.
Substitute Villa: Can the agent for villas with pools transfer you to a similar type of villa (at a given short notice) if problems crop up and your party cannot stay at the villa you previously selected?
Transparency: Due to some unavoidable reasons, if you want to terminate your stay before the date when you were expected to leave the villa, how do you go about it? Will you receive a refund on the days you did not use? Will your deposit be returned to you? There is usually a process that should be followed in villas with swimming pools by the tenants before their departure is finalized, so get to know this clause very well.
Your stay in Cyprus villas with private pools can be pleasant if the rules governing your stay are clear and easy to understand. If anything seems confusing, clarify the issue with your agent or the owner of the villa, before you arrive at the villa.
